Killed In Taiwan Bus Crash

Over 32 people have been confirmed dead after their tour bus veered off a highway and turned over on a ramp near Taipei on Monday evening.

The bus was returning to New Taipei City from Wuling Farm, a popular tourist attraction in Taichung. 32 people are reported killed and 12 injured, according to the National Fire Agency. Taiwanese television footage showed the bus careening toward a road barrier at a highway curve before flipping on its side.

Around 40 people were reportedly on board when the bus crashed on a road close to the capital, Taipei. He said "the whole frame of the bus changed shape".

Authorities are still trying to determine the exact cause of the accident.

Local TV station TVBS said 16 people were taken to hospital to be treated for injuries.

Twenty ambulances and 200 firefighters were sent to the scene.

A bus driver working for the travel-agency that sold the tour told the EETV broadcaster that some colleagues had previously complained about the tiring assignment.
