BJP workers intrude into Rahul's roadshow, he greets them

Targeting the votes of servicemen, ex-servicemen and their families in Uttarakhand, PM Modi criticised the Congress for ignoring their welfare while, Rahul accused the PM of accommodating 13 tainted leaders of the Congress into BJP.

Taking a swipe at Modi, Rahul on Saturday said the former was more interested in "peeping into the bathrooms of people", The Economic Times reported. "Only BJP can do overall development of the state", Javadekar said.

While the prime minister addressed a rally in Pithoragarh and Shrinagar in Garhwal, Rahul held a roadshow in Haridwar district.

Further pledging to eradicate corruption and fight against black money, the Prime Minister said that his aim is not to harass the poor or honest, but to punish the one who have looted the common man.

Rahul said the Congress threw garbage out of Uttarakhand but Modi brought it back in his party. But, all the corrupt leaders which we had removed from our party, was embraced by the PM.

Rahul Gandhi was referring to Vijay Bahugun, Yashpal Arya and other former Congress leaders, who left the party to join BJP ahead of assembly elections. The road show witnessed a big turnout. Does the road to victory in the state, then, pass through the "holy" city?

Uttarakhand goes to poll in a single phase on Feb 15.
