Harrison Ford Involved in Incident with Passenger Plane, FAA Opening Investigation

According to the report, as Ford's plane came in for the landing it passed over the top of an American Airlines 737 carrying 110 passengers and a six-person crew.

Ford was given correct landing instructions, the FAA said.

Actor Harrison Ford was involved in a potentially serious incident on Monday as he was piloting his private plane, a single engine Husky, NBC News has learned. However, Ford, who trained as a pilot in the 1950s, is generally considered to be an good pilot in flying circles. In 2015, he crashed his plane at the Penmar Gold Course in Venice, California. He was inducted as a Living Legend of Aviation. And in 2000, his Beechcraft Bonanza slightly scraped the runway during an emergency landing at Nebraska's Lincoln Municipal Airport.

The resulting FAA investigation could result in a variety of actions against the actor/pilot, from a warning letter to suspension of pilot's license.
