The latest plan offers 2GB data per day and unlimited calling within its network for 28 days at Rs. 339.

The telecom tribunal did not stay Reliance Jio's free promotional offer, but asked regulator Trai to "re-examine" issues relating to the approval granted to the operator to continue with the freebies.

On February 23, the telecom tribunal had asked the regulator to submit all documents pertaining to Reliance Jio's free offers and specify whether the tariffs were a regular plan, base plan or a special tariff voucher. The only drawback that is apparent is that the plan offers 3G data in contrast to ultra low-priced 4G data now on offer by Reliance Jio. The telco had also launched 10 Prime packs of users that join the network before March 31, 2017, and had also launched a buy one get one free offer for Jio Prime users. Most unlimited packs Idea, Airtel and Vodafone are offering are not accessible to every customer - most are left wondering if they are eligible and how to get the offer.

Now in a major embarrassment, TRAI was left red-faced when TDSAT pointed out loopholes in Reliance Jio offers. Recently Jio has offered 500MB data for 28 Day on recharge of Rs 99. The company has announced the 30 GB Free Data to its postpaid user. Facing heat Reliance Jio, incumbent telecom operators have already approached the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) and the Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) asking for clarification on free voice and data offers. "We offer best prices to our customers considering the present trend of Indian telecom industry", BSNL Director for Consumer Mobility RK Mittal said. Therefore, if a user were to ideally use the "Airtel Surprise" offer then they will be able to avail an additional of 10GB of free data for three months.

With so many plans on 4G data out there, it can get really confusing.
