A look at Reliance Jio's new tariff pack, post TRAI intervention

In fact, Vodafone managed to provide offers and recharges that were nearly better than Jio's. But, you Jio users shouldn't expect to receive packages with three months worth of unlimited data services.

The texts read "Last chance to avail Jio Summer Surprise offer!".

After pulling up of Summer Suprise offer, Jio has come up with its new offer "Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan".

Ever since Reliance Jio entered the Indian telecom space, incumbent telecom operators have been vocal about the new entrant offering freebies to attract users.

Three months of the complimentary offer before the paid plan starts. In order to smoothen the migration from free to paid services, Jio has implemented simple, affordable and regulatory compliant plans in customer interest. However, users can still opt for the Reliance Jio Prime membership offer till April 15 as announced earlier. However, with the Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan offer, customers will be able to continue enjoying the free services till June, the same as users of Jio Summer Surprise offer users. According to sources, it looks like Jio is planning to announce two new plans with 1GB and 2GB per day respectively. We'll have to wait and watch what kind of plans Jio comes up with and how soon.

There is also a Rs 149 plan that offers validity of 28 days and high-speed data of 2GB, without any FUP limit.

Reliance Jio has updated its website and MyJio with the latest offer that will replace the now discontinued "Jio Summer Surprise Offer". Interestingly there is no plan, currently, for postpaid users. Its second offer, Happy New Year, was challenged in the TDSAT as the promotional offer had exceeded the mandated 90-day period.

If you are not a prime member, you will still get the offer by paying Rs.549. Interestingly, the plans of Rs 999 and above are gone from the website.

"Essentially, the offer seems broadly similar", to the one the regulator halted, Viju George, an analyst at JPMorgan Chase & Co.'s Indian unit, wrote in a report on Wednesday.

Reliance Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan is for first recharge only.

Can one get Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan benefits along with Jio summer surprise offer? The telecom behemoth had yesterday throttled back the previous offer and said that it was gearing up to release new offers for the benefit of its customer base and they're now live.

Reliance Jio's tariff plans still need to be updated and we don't know how long it is going to take. First things first, the offer is not the same as the Summer Surprise offer.
