Jerusalem gets 1st Palestinian bank branch

One person was lightly-to-moderately wounded on Wednesday after being hit by a auto in a terror attack at the Gush Etzion Junction on Route 60 in the West Bank.

The driver of the vehicle was shot and fatally wounded by IDF troops who were on the scene, a military spokesperson said.

According to MDA, the victim was approximately 60 years old.

Several car-ramming attacks have occurred at that junction in the past year and a half. He arrived with no vital signs and was pronounced dead after resuscitation efforts failed.

The attack came days after a Palestinian fatally stabbed British exchange student Hannah Bladon on Jerusalem's light rail. At least 243 Palestinians have died during the period of sporadic violence.

The Palestinian Health Ministry confirmed that a Palestinian man had been killed after carrying out a ramming attack.

The first branch of a Palestinian bank was inaugurated Monday in Israel-held East Jerusalem, in the first such move in the occupied territory in decades. The Palestinian Authority, which exercises limited self-rule in the West Bank, denies incitement and charges that in many cases, Israel has used excessive force in thwarting attackers armed with rudimentary weapons.
