R8 V10 plus is Audi's fastest open-top ever

It'll get you from 0-62 miles per hour in a blistering 3.3 seconds and has a top speed of 203.8 miles per hour, according to Audi. That's right; the most powerful production Audi on sale today has gone convertible.

The R8 Spyder Plus' exclusive new micrommata green paint job gives it a Hulk-like appearance and the optional design package has an anthracite gray single-frame grille and black tailpipe covers.

"The Audi R8 Spyder V10 plus completes the R8 model line", said Stephan Winkelmann, Audi managing director, in a statement. "The Spyder is now also available as a 610 hp top version in addition to the Coupé".

Ingolstadt based carmaker Audi has revealed the 2017 R8 Spyder V10 Plus, the final version of Audi's flagship vehicle. This is the new R8 Spyder V10 plus.

Just like the Coupe, the Spyder gets quattro 4WD, selectable driving modes and variable torque distribution that can shove everything to a single axle when needed through Audi's seven-speed dial-clutch box. Plus, like its lowlier sibling, you get a power folding soft top that goes up or down at up to 31 mph.But wait, there's more! The Plus model also has a top speed of 328 kmph (up by 10 kmph). But it was only a matter of time before the mid-engined ragtop underwent the Plus treatment, and now the Spyder also comes with the same full cream 5.2-litre V10 as the range-topping tin-topper. For example, the sports seats trimmed in nappa leather, impregnated with a special substance that prevents the heated seats under the sun.

The Plus's "liberal use of carbon fibre" visually separates it from the regular R8 Spyder, the magazine says, while a "more subtle carbon fibre lip" replaces the V10 Plus coupe's larger rear wing. Pricing at home in Germany kicks off from €207,500 with deliveries slated for the summer's end.
