Rishabh Pant, Kuldeep Yadav picked for ODI's against Windies

Beginning on June 23 at the Queen's Park Oval, India play five one-dayers against West Indies followed by a solitary Twenty20 worldwide on July 9 at Jamaica's Sabina Park. He is yet to play ODIs or T20Is.

Interestingly, India's opener Rohit Sharma, who made a comeback to worldwide cricket in the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy 2017 after a long break, has not been included in the squad.

Pant, 19, hit two fifties for Delhi Daredevils in the recent IPL edition, following on from a 326-ball 308 in the domestic Ranji Trophy last season. Team India is now playing in the ICC Champions Trophy in England.

Both Rishabh and Kuldeep were in stand byes for the Champions Trophy and it was only a fair call by the selection committee led by MSK Prasad to try the two youngsters against a weaker global side.

West Indies did not qualify for the ICC Champions Trophy and they will be keen to take on high-flying India in the Caribbean.

Before every match, Rohit is seen having sessions with Patrick Farhart who keeps a hawk eye on his fragile hamstring. Rohit Sharma is a notable omission and the reason for that is still not clear. "Hope I will perform well in the tour". While Rishabh Pant is expected to open the innings alongside Dhawan.

Pant will certainly feature in the single T20 global, having already made his debut.

As for Kuldeep, he made his Test debut against Australia in March, but has yet to play limited overs cricket. The chairman of selectors, MSK Prasad, had called them players for the future.
