Photo leaks show off the Infinity Display on the Galaxy Note 8

A bitter smartphone battle in the last quarter of 2017 could drive sales of premium phones sky-high with Apple with their new iPhone 8 and Samsung with a new Note 8 tipped to go head to head. After Samsung failed to bring the on-screen fingerprint scanner in its Galaxy S8 series, there are rumours Apple won't let its fans down.

And Samsung will also improve the resolution of the Galaxy Note 8, with the curved Super AMOLED display capable of displaying 2,960 x 1,440 pixels, with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio.

The big question for iPhone owners will be "what has the new iPhone got over an all new Samsung Note 8". As mentioned before, Samsung was working hard to be the first in the USA with the Galaxy S8 but ran out of time and couldn't get the tech in working order.

And there's another feature the leaked image shows which will offer users an improved experience.

In the video, we see a smartphone apparently being unlocked by placing a finger on a dedicated area on the screen, which disappears as soon as the phone is unlocked.

If the note 8 does include a dual-lens snapper it will place it one step ahead of the S8. It is believed that 3x optical zoom will also be included in the telephoto lens gracing the Note 8, while the front-facing camera will also be impressive. Considering this we don't expect it to be available to the USA public for another month or two.

The battery capacity of the phone is said to be around 3500mAh, same as the one used in the S8+ and as usual, fast charging technology via USB-C port will be supported.

Samsung has high hopes for its in-house Bixby voice assistant.

According to the reports, it looks like Vivo is going to launch a new smartphone this month i.e June 28th to be precise.

Though these are the rumors only; Samsung has not officially unveiled any specifications or features of Galaxy Note 8.

If past releases are to be referred to, the Note 8 is bound to make its debut in September this year. As you can see, there's still no confirmation in regards to the release date of the phone and as such, brace yourself for anything.
