Samuel L. Jackson to Return as Nick Fury For Captain Marvel

It will be the first movie in the Disney Marvel film library to be led by a female superhero.

It's a good time to be Captain Marvel.

Several months ago Jackson suggested he would be interested in returning to the role, telling WeGotThisCovered: 'I'm always open and game.

Fury appeared in all of the early MCU movies, serving as the connective tissue, but has been mostly sidelined since he was shot and hospitalized in "Captain America: Winter Soldier". Captain Marvel, which features the story of Carol Danvers, a military hero who develops superpowers, will begin shooting in January of next year. How the hell does that work? No matter how famous they are now thanks to the MCU, there was a time before these actors and actress were famous, and a new video highlights just what they were doing before you even knew who they were. And while there's still no word on those projects, Jackson has been confirmed as one of the combatants of the Russo brothers' Avengers: Infinity War.

Jackson will also be seen in Larson's directorial debut Unicorn Store, which has a TBA 2017 release. So, they've worked on two different films making this pairing believable.

Captain Marvel is scheduled to come out March 8, 2019. No matter, for Fury will get a chance now and we are excited to see how the story arc of the character continues as the Marvel film universe expands.
