"I just want to make an impact".

Liverpool has completed the signing of Chelsea Striker, Dominic Solanke, after the expiration of his contract with the Premier League champions.

Liverpool tweeted this afternoon to confirm Solanke's arrival.

Liverpool's statement did not specify the length of Solanke's contract, while Chelsea's compensation fee will be set by a tribunal.

Solanke's stock has since risen after helping England win the Under-20 World Cup this summer and winning the Golden Ball for the tournament's best player in the process.

'As a young player, you always want to see the club you're at pushing young players through. "Hopeful I can put on the shirt in the near future and make some good history here". The versatile Reading-born forward has been handed the number 29 shirt.

And Solanke has praised the opportunities afforded to young players at Anfield, in comparison to his former club Chelsea.

Solanke spent the 2015-16 season on loan at Vitesse Arnhem, scoring seven goals in 25 games.

"My favourite position would probably be the striker, No. 9", he told LFCTV.

There, he will compete with the likes of Rhian Brewster and Glen McAuley for a central striking role - while it is likely his first-team chances in the 2017-18 season will come in domestic cup competitions.
