Bryce Harper: All-Star captains should draft teams

Cano hit the first extra-inning home run in an MLB All-Star game in 50 years, as he led off the top of the tenth inning with a solo shot off of Wade Davis.

Leave it up to Bryce Harper to come up with another idea to make baseball fun again. His absence from the All-Star Game in Miami was notable, and Harper wanted to pay tribute to him.

"I could be facing Max Scherzer", he said.

Harper wasn't the only one declaring a message with his footwear. "That'd be a lot of fun".

American League starters: 1B Justin Smoak, Blue Jays; 2B Jose Altuve, Astros; SS Carlos Correa, Astros; 3B Jose Ramirez, Indians; OF Aaron Judge, Yankees; OF George Springer, Astros; OF Mookie Betts, Red Sox; C Salvador Perez, Royals; DH Corey Dickerson, Rays. The NHL and National Football League have both experimented with draft-style all-star games. Football and hockey are highly physical games, though, that just don't translate to the casual all-star atmosphere. Seems like a fun idea, no?

"How you think Dak's gonna be this year?" The All-Star Game should employ the World Baseball Classic's rules for extra innings, putting runners in scoring position to start those additional frames, so that the chances of scoring go way up. With all the players in this clubhouse, seeing that locker over there, just gives you a sense of energy and passion that you want to take towards the game.
