Buhari recuperating fast, will be back shortly - Osinbajo

Don't forget that Osinbajo often says that a president remains a president while the acting president is the acting president working with one goal - to change the country for the better.

"I wasn't saying that we don't want him to return, but the claim of the acting President is not true".

"I thought it will be a good thing to go and see him and brief him on development back at home".

The former minister was reacting to the statements by Osinbajo on Wednesday upon return from his trip to visit the president in which he claimed that they had a substantive discussion for over an hour and that he was in "high spirits" and "recuperating very quickly". We spoke for over an hour and his humour is all there, he is doing well.

This came based on the fallout of Tuesday's London meeting, between President Muhammadu Buhari and Osinbajo.

"We acknowledge the undeniable fact that the failure of the Presidency to respect the principle of full disclosure and accountability in terms of how much of the public fund is spent paying the medical costs of keeping Mr. President in London has undermined the very essence of government's focal programme of anti-corruption crusade".

Osinbajo had said on his return that the President is 'recuperating fast and would return to the country anytime soon'.

Earlier this week the First Lady of Nigeria, Aisha Buhari, caused a social media storm as she responded to a post by Senator Sani, a Nigerian legislator, who appeared to be commenting metaphorically on the political instability caused by President Buhari's prolonged absence due to an undisclosed illness.

A youth group based in Borno, the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), is set to launch a book on the achievements of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration.
