Season 3 of 'Mr. Robot' promises dark times ahead in trailer

USA Network's acclaimed "Mr. Robot" now has its season premiere date set, with the cable network announcing today that season three will bow October 11. And it did so by dropping a super creepy and extremely exciting trailer. They tweeted out lines from Leonard Cohen's "Democracy", which led to endless speculation from fans. How do you think Cannavale's character factors into everything?

He'll be a series regular in Season 3, joining Rami Malek, Christian Slater, Portia Doubleday, Carly Chaikin, Martin Wallström, Grace Gummer, Michael Cristofer, Stephanie Corneliussen and BD Wong.

There are plenty of factors that have helped make Mr. Robot the successful show that it's become. Or at so many recognizable people ―particularly Angela ―in fsociety masks?

You don't know him yet, of course; he's the latest addition to Mr. Robot's ensemble cast, a "laconic, no-nonsense used vehicle salesman" to be played by the esteemed Bobby Cannavale. (As well as a lot of discussion about whether Elliot is a reliable narrator.) But this trailer is back to the dystopian feel that made season 1 so popular.

The trailer was unlocked by fans through a viral marketing campaign, taking the form of a social media scavenger hunt orchestrated by the network. All we can really say is that Elliot looks to have recovered from the gunshot wound he suffered in the season two finale, and that the attack perpetrated on E-Corp's paper records is probably leading to a devastating fallout. But that's part of the fun.

Season 3 will explore each character's motivations and the disintegration between Elliot and Mr. Robot.
