Marvel promises Inhumans won't be as bad as it looks

"She's this symbiosis between the two, you see this strong, powerful man and this powerful woman, and then it's husband and wife, and it's king and it's queen".

It's not surprising to hear Mount bring up the Ben Affleck comparison, not when The Inhumans continues to garner criticism. In particular, he wants people to know that Medusa's unconvincing CGI hair was "not ready" at the time.

As Variety notes, the reaction by critics and fans on social media has been largely negative so far. The review was pulled for breaking embargo, but by all accounts other critics don't seem to have been impressed with the first episode either, and they seem to have expressed their displeasure at the TCA.

It would take a heart of stone not to be moved by Anson Mount's comparison.

Jeph Loeb, who heads Marvel Television, dismissed the suggestion that the response to "Inhumans" would echo beyond the eight-episode project.

With ABC airing the new Marvel's Inhumans series starting at the end of September, it was thought Marvel's Agents of SHIELD Season 5 would be pushed back possibly to 2018.

"I can tell you that it was written on the material that you were given that the show that you have seen is not the finished product", Loeb said when asked whether the series had turned out as he had hoped it. "I felt like it didn't give you the scope, it didn't give you a lot of secrets or visual effects". We released some new footage at Comic-Con that I think has reversed some of that conversation. "We are still a month away from final air, but I do feel like there's great opportunity there as well".

"You're watching something and it's dependent upon being able to understand, for example, what Attilan looks like".

Loeb, following the panel, spoke to the intense work that is going into the show, citing Lockjaw, a completely CG character who is regularly involved in the series. Marvel Television's crew are still working hard to make this right.

Do you plan to watch "Inhumans" at IMAX? . "If they both do well, we'll be really excited".
